Collicutt Recreational Centre

This recreational facility in Red Deer required exciting functional wayfinding and graphic applications. As part of the KADG design team, Nando DeGirolamo designed thematic pageantry applications that not only created a sense of excitement, but also acted as a destination identification element. All graphics have a consistent visual approach with colour and graphics specific to each activity. The unique pylon design that houses the new identity was implemented with features from the architecture, resulting in a harmonious connection between sign and building. Inside are directory maps and oversized text treatments to assist patrons in finding their destination. As with any public funded facility, a donor recognition system was required. It was incorporated into the concrete columns located near the front entrance. This successful facility is now complete and enjoyed by patrons all year long.
