Alberta Children's Hospital
The new Alberta Children’s Hospital is a state of the art facility sensitive to the needs of its patients – the children. The project required the design and implementation of an identity, signage and wayfinding system throughout the new facility. As senior designer at KADG, Nando designed and implemented this project through to completion. The solution required appropriate look and feel expressions for young patients and adults resulting in a child friendly, highly functional design. Unique child friendly wayfinding and identification designs were created for all levels of signage resulting in a playful yet professional appearance. The exterior wayfinding signage program was extensive along with the exterior and interior of the 3 level parkade which included special graphics in-keeping with the design of the hospital. The success and client confidence from this program also led to the design and implementation of the Mountainview Café, retail shops, donor recognition system, and a 300 foot long sculptural name treatment along Shaganappi Trail.
