Town of Cochrane – Wayfinding and Signage Program

The real west happens everyday in Cochrane, a thriving vibrant community in the Bow Valley in Southern Alberta, within minutes of the Rocky Mountains and the City of Calgary.

The Challenge

Cochrane Town Council engaged BOND to design and implement a new community signage and wayfinding program that would incorporate their new visual identity.

Strategic Plan

BOND attended stakeholder meetings and conducted research as well as taking into consideration the values and equity that the Town of Cochrane holds.

Design

During the design process, an open house was conducted for residents to cast their ballots for the desired design and the Town of Cochrane also made the designs available for online voting on their website. The chosen design depicts the western heritage and values while incorporating contemporary elements. We are in the implementation stage of this project and are very excited, along with the Town of Cochrane, to see the signage program in place.
